Supplementen kiezen: een praktische gids van Acai Amsterdam

Choosing supplements: a practical guide from Acai Amsterdam

At Acai Amsterdam, our range starts with food: açaí, superfruits, smoothie ingredients and granola. Alongside them, you will find vitamins and supplements. But what fits your needs? An informed choice starts with understanding what you are buying.

Food comes first

A supplement adds to your daily diet; it does not replace varied eating. Most people can obtain the nutrients they need from a healthy, varied diet. Specific supplementation advice applies to some groups. See the Netherlands Nutrition Centre’s guidance for more information.

Start with the label

Take a moment to read the back of the pack. Check the ingredients, amount per recommended daily serving, directions and warnings. Compare more than the number of capsules or tablets: a daily serving may contain several. Follow the recommended amount and keep supplements out of children’s reach.

Which format fits your routine?

Tablets, capsules and powders each involve a different way of using a product. Choose a format that is practical for you, and always follow the specific product’s instructions. A powder for your smoothie is not automatically a food supplement; check how it is described on the label.

Explore the range and understand the differences

Our collection includes Physalis Ferro B12 Extra Strength – 45 tablets and Physalis Omega 3 Vegan – 30 capsules, for example. These are different products with their own ingredients and directions, not interchangeable choices. Read the product page and label before ordering.

For your bowl or smoothie, there are also food products such as Biotona Supergreens – 150 g. This gives you a useful starting point: are you looking for a recipe ingredient or a particular supplement?

When should you ask for advice?

If you take medicines, are pregnant or are breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether a supplement is suitable. The same applies if you have a medical condition or are unsure about combining products. Natural does not automatically mean safe: supplements and herbal products can interact with medicines. Our approach is simple: start with your question, read the information and choose thoughtfully. You do not need to add everything to your routine.
